# Support for IVF\_SQ8 index type

We’re exploring Vector databases for a project. For our scale the memory footprint is quite large. We found that the only index type currently implemented in Weaviate is HNSW with plans to add others in the future. Are there any firm time tables for new index types or more specifically IVF\_SQ8?
