# Why is Gemini 2.5 Flash not supported?

I’m using the TypeScript client `weaviate-client` to be used with Google Gemini.

Why is it that the client is refusing to accept `gemini-2.5-flash` as the model? It is the latest.

The options that the client is listing are all outdated.

This is the actual error message:

```auto

I removed the validation of the models in here: [Remove model validation from generative+rerank modules by dirkkul · Pull Request #9440 · weaviate/weaviate · GitHub](https://github.com/weaviate/weaviate/pull/9440) - the next version of 1.31+ will allow you to use the latest gemini models
