Weaviate cloud services add module

How do I add a module in weaviate cloud services. I am trying to add text2vec-contextionary but it is not in the default modules and I cannot add any modules

Hey @Grandma_Kisses – cool name :wink:

At this time the Weaviate Cloud Service only supports 3rd-party modules, such as OpenAI, Cohere, Huggingface, etc. It does not currently support any modules where the model inference happens locally. This might change in the future, but there are no concrete plans right now.

Hey thanks for the answer. I guess for anyone viewing in the future it make sense to vectorize in the backend then upload it to weaviate

Hi @Grandma_Kisses - yeah if the pre-set modules don’t work for you then this is the way.
