I really like vector data shown in an animated force-directed graph. So, I stored the vectors in Weaviate. Then I fed the ‘nearest neighbor’ data from Weaviate to the D3blocks library, which allowed me to have FDG plotting, all with Python.

Hey Mohamed,
Thanks for the note. It was really fun to use Weaviate with my project. It is an honor to get a reply from someone from Weaviate.
I had never used a vector database before, so I was delighted that it was relatively easy to implement. I left some notes on it in my Georgia Project, if anyone is interested in my use of it.
cheers,
Katherine

Absolutely
! If you need anything in Weaviate or help with any concept, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’ll be happy to support.
Vector databases are the future, and AI is becoming embedded everywhere. At Weaviate, we focus on making things simple for developers, engineers, and anyone using vector DB for the first time.
I’m really glad to hear you’re enjoying it. Have a lovely week ahead.

Hello Mohamed,
I hope you are well. It is finally Spring here in Maryland. We deserve that!
I have written a React/Next browser application that uses vector data in a Weaviate database, which is installed locally, running in Docker. I am thinking of hosting the app in a cloud server, as a developer portfolio. The space needed will be small, as it is a small app using approx. 100 png images. I think hosting the Weaviate database with Weaviate makes sense, of course. I was wondering which app hosting service you would recommend for such a portfolio site?
thank you!
Katherine
Hey there,
Thank you so much, I’m doing well, and hope you are too! And absolutely, enjoy that! I wish I could say the same about Ireland, it’s stormy, rainy, cloudy… in other words, miserable
I’m not really an expert, but for free tier, Vercel seems like a solid choice pretty standard for Next.js.
On the database side Weaviate Cloud (WCD) offers a free 14-day sandbox to try things out, and you can go as low as $45/month after that.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Dear Mohamed,
Thank you so much for the Vercel recommendation. I am new to this world, so choosing a standard answer sounds great. Yes, I am thinking of going with the free 14 day sandbox, then switching if things look good. I will write to you (and everyone I know) when I go live with it. Should be a lot of fun.
Sorry about your weather. I know it can be challenging to see a gray sky everyday. Hope you can visit a warm beach this year.
later,
Katherine
